90 Degrees

So this home improvement project has taken it's toll on our common sense.

Well, David's anyway.

We came to the conclusion, late Friday afternoon, that the baseboards in the den needed to be removed.

And new ones would be bought.

But with this revelation came the need for a miter box/saw to cut the corner/angles to make them fit right.

My dad gave us his saw, and I thought that this would be a pretty simple project actually.

Until I caught David, in the den, in one of the corners, with all these engineering rulers, a calculator and a pencil.

"Ummmm, whatcha doin'?" I asked, knowing full well what he was doing I just wanted to hear him say it aloud.

"Measuring the corners so we know what angle they need to be cut at."

Bingo.

He apparently didn't notice that each corner of the room, of any room for that matter, was actually a 90 degree angle.

And 1/2 of that would be 45 degrees, and this is what they would need to be cut to.

But he wanted to go about the really ridiculously hard way of figuring out "exactly what the corner angles are" by measuring them.

Ahhh it was quite fun pointing this one out to him.

To which he sagged his shoulders, dropped the ruler, sighed and said, "This is going on the blog this week, isn't it?"

Apparently, not ALL common sense has been lost. :)

What does Snoop Dogg use to whiten his whites? Blee-aach!

Ahhhh, the joys of home ownership.

I have owned my house for almost two years now, and only done small projects. Painting the hallway...painting the kitchen. Stuff like that.

I had carpet in my den that I just could not stand any longer.

Tatumbell, the dominant male that he is, likes to continue to pee in one corner of this room. So much so that I cannot stop him from doing it apparently.

So I ripped up the carpet.

(that's Allie in the picture, not Tatumbell)

and we then ordered tile to put in.

Yay!

Except the concrete needs to be cleaned. Most likely with bleach. To try and get whatever is making Tatumbell pee in one corner out of the concrete.

So David tells me he will scrub the concrete with bleach one day.

And he says, "I need to wear a long sleeve shirt and jeans right? Don't want to get that on my skin."

Ummm, what?

I responded with, "You want stonewash jeans?"

He didn't get it.

For like 45 seconds.

"Ohhhhhh...I need to wear really crappy clothes in case I get it on me, huh?"

Ah geez...

Phi Mu Alumnae Shirt

I forgot to add earlier that I made an OSU/Phi Mu Alumnae shirt for game days...it will be printed on a black, v-neck, short sleeved American Apparel t-shirt, with the design on the bottom left hand side of the shirt. Cost is $13 and the deadline to order will be Sept. 1. E-mail me at kelsey.nuckolls@gmail.com with your address and size of shirt you want by the deadline, and I'll get one ordered for you!

Won't work again, buddy...

So remember how David confused the "TR" on his class schedule as only meaning the class met on Thursday, not the intended purpose of Tuesday AND Thursday?

He asked me last night, and I quote, "So this 'TR' for Chem 2 means it meets on Thursdays right? I wonder why it's only once a week this time..."

Ah geez. Apparently the class schedule system was much easier to understand at the University of Oklahoma than at the completely complicated and intellectually superior Oklahoma State University...

This is me and Rebecca...she's my husband's sister's husband's sister...did that make sense?? I met her a year ago and thought she was pretty great then, so to get her in Phi Mu land is pretty special to me :)

All the new ones! Quota 49...we got 51!

Here they come!
